MUSIC REVIEW: Cynthia Basinet “The Standard” a truly amazing album that needs your musical attention

“FADED MEMORIES, BROUGHT TO THE SURFACE”
I’ve always been a real sucker for the sounds of yesteryear, and with this being said I have a copy of Cynthia Basinet and her album called “The Standard” a truly amazing album that needs your musical attention.
Cynthia starts off this amazing and wonderful collection with a classic song called “Santa Baby” and serves the song total justice. With this being said I wanted to get to the meat & potatoes of the album.
The next track is a standard that sets the tone for this wonderful & really enjoyable album called “Someone to Watch Over Me” and Cynthia really has the sounds that emulate these golden vintage songs of yesteryear. I feel if you can do a song in this way then you deserve to be heard and noticed for what you have to offer to the music world.

“Haunted Heart” the next song on Cynthia’s album is just that “Hauntingly awesome, Cynthia has a voice that really reaches into the music archives and is just “wunnerful”.
The songs on this collection are some of my favorites and Cynthia really has that voice that is smooth and sensual, just like these songs are meant to be heard.

“Tea For Two” has the sultriness and smoothness and Cynthia throughout this album continued to allow my ears to be filled with superb memories of these immortal songs that are a distant memory, but never the less Cynthia and her magical vocals maintain & keep this memory fresh in my mind.

There are few women in this generation that can comprehend and understand the history of these songs and I hear that complete sound from Cynthia and her superb vocals on every song on this collection.
The next song is called “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To” is a standard that is a gentle song & once again Cynthia sings her angle on it and kept me entertained and my mind was in engulfed with all the amazing talent that I was hearing from my headset. With the start of the next song “Cry Me A River” Cynthia really showcased her perfect pitch and her expertise in making this song a remarkable and remembering experience.

Cynthia has that sound of sexiness that brought my ears to full attention and once again, the ladies of this generation would be of total acceptance of Cynthia and her ability to make them a great re-lived time. Cynthia Basinet shares her sultriness in every song. I, at times while listening to this album felt as if I were in a nightclub back to the 40’s and 50’s in a live setting fully involved in the show at hand.

“Sweet Dreams” wow!! such diversity, in Cynthia she brings in a classic and unforgettable rendition of this song that delivers so much emotion and Cynthia and her magical voice bring this song to a new level, and was splendid.

“Going Out Of My Head” Cynthia, nails this one where she adds that beat to it to pick up the pace, and sounds just right.
Cynthia in my book can sing the pages of a phone book, she brings that incredible smooth and reflective emotions and inflections on the songs that she sings.

The album continues to soar above any of my expectations I’ve heard lots of music guys & gals attempt this feat but with Cynthia, she has complete control and preciseness on these songs on this album including this jazzy but flavorful cut, “It’s Only A Paper Moon”
Cynthia just proves that there is tremendous talent out there and with her realism that she carries throughout this amazing and touching album, Cynthia brought all these beautiful songs to life with her tremendous gift of sultriness and smoothness that I know realize how much these songs are heavily imprinted on my part of my musical memories and thank her for this.

The last song on this amazing and totally outstanding musical tribute by the one the only Cynthia Basinet, where she has a complete pulse on all she sings and I am very honored to write this review of her talent.
My hopes is that others may hear this album and what a truly gifted and amazing and gorgeous person Cynthia Basinet really is.

I thank Cynthia for allowing me to relive all these beautiful memories again and adding a brighter day in my life, knowing that these standards haven’t left us, they’ve just been tucked away beneath our musical memories.
